ABOUT

The 4th International Workshop on Nuclear Theory “Nuclei and hypernuclei in relativistic ion collisions”, INTW2026, will be held between  September 27 (arrival day) and October 3 (departure day) 2026 in Kemer, Antalya, Türkiye.

The aim of INTW2026 is to provide an international forum for discussions and collaborations about new scientific developments at the border of physics between researchers in nuclear physics and related areas. These questions are at the focus of the activities at the FAIR facility, especially related to the Nuclear Astrophysics programme and the HADES and CBM physics topics. We also welcome contributions on  topics related to the experimental studies e.g. at RHIC, LHC, J-PARC and others. It will be focused on theoretical and experimental developments in nuclear physics, production, structure, decay and formation of nuclei/hypernuclei and nuclear fragmentation processes in laboratories and universe, nuclear astrophysics, applications of nuclear physics.

Historically, the NUFRA ‘International Conference on NUclear FRAgmentation’ conference series have been organized 5 times in Kemer, Antalya, hosted by Selçuk University with national/international cooperation and partners from Germany (NUFRA2007NUFRA2009NUFRA2011NUFRA2013, and NUFRA2015). These conferences have contributed to the development of collaborative works and over the years new collaborations have been expanded by completing joint national/international TÜBİTAK and COST Action projects. There has been a change of flags and tasks from senior professors to the younger generations. The rapidly changing research trends of the age, the findings that come to light with the experiments carried out give rise to many new research problems in the field of nuclear physics.

INTW2022 (August 16, 2022), INTW2023 (August 20-22, 2023), INTW2024 (September 29-October 5, 2024), and INTW2026 conferences have been held, within the framework of the joint DAAD-TUBITAK (121N420 and 124N105) bilateral projects between Goethe University and Selcuk University, with the aim of expanding and strengthening cooperation and sharing recent scientific results with researchers in the wider community.

The INTW2026 is jointly organised by Selcuk University, Goethe University and the Helmholtz Research Academy Hesse for FAIR (HFHF). Akdeniz University and Karabuk University from Türkiye, Fudan University from China, INFN from Italy and RIKEN from Japan are also part of the organising committee to expand the cooperation.

We kindly acknowledge financial support by the Goethe University, Helmholtz Research Academy of Hesse for FAIR (HFHF); Selcuk University (126N001). Additional support will be requested from The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye (TÜBİTAK) 2223-B Grant Program for Organizing Scientific Meeting within the Country (*) and Turkish Energy, Nuclear and Mineral Reseach Agency (TENMAK) (*) by INTW2026 committee.  Furthermore, accepted Turkish speakers may individually apply to 2224-B Grant Program for Participation in Scientific Meetings within the Country.  ( *)  to be confirmed.
